21 March WWW Wednesday

Good Evening Everyone,

I just wrote the date for this post and it hit me that we’re nearly a quarter of the way through the year already! I have no idea where the time is flying by but what I do know is that I’m proud of the reading I’ve completed so far this year. My aim at the beginning of the year when I started this blog was to up my reading to get back to where I used to be. Although I may not read a lot compared to other’s standards, I’m so pleased with my personal progress. I have to say WWW Wednesday has helped me with that. I don’t want to post with no updates, so I read more. It’s perfect for me. So let’s get into it!

This is a weekly feature run by Taking on a World of Words whereby you blog answering the following 3 questions;

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What have you recently read?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

All you have to do is answer the questions and post a link to your post in the comments on Sam’s post. Easy Peasy and fun right? How can one resist.

Suicide ClubWhat are you currently reading?

Ignore my I’m so proud of myself nonsense above, because this is so contradictory, but I’m still reading Suicide Club by Rachel Heng. I have 1 hours worth left of reading, so if I don’t get this finished by my next post then there is something very very wrong with me!

Just to confirm, it’s no reflection on the book. It’s good. I’m enjoying it. It’s me and nothing else. I’m having “spare time” issues.
30907856To mitigate my spare time I’m issues, I’ve picked up audio books again. As I’ve mentioned before, I commute an awful lot, so audio books are perfect for me. I previously listened to The Not So Secret Emails of Coco Pinchard by Robert Bryndza and it was hilarious and very well narrated, so I’ve picked up Coco Pinchard’s Big Fat Tipsy Wedding, the follow up. It’s not disappointing and I’ve laughed a whole heap already.

Foreign FruitWhat have you recently read?

To continue the audio book theme, I finished listening to Foreign Fruit by Jojo Moyes since my last post. This was a decent book and although that may sound a little bit middle of the road and average (who wants “decent” anything?!) it was the perfect book for me for the mood I was in. I won’t go into this too much as you can read my review if you’d like to know more or are interested in this book.

How do you like me nowWhat do you think you’ll read next?

Failure. I’m a complete failure. My next read is exactly the same as my last post; How Do You Like Me Now? by Holly Bourne. I still need to read and review this for an ARC and I’ll get to it as soon as I’m done with Suicide Club. I’m talking, jump straight from one to the other because I really need to pull my finger out.

I’ll most likely listen to another audio book also but I haven’t 100% decided on what I’m going to listen to yet. It will likely pop up in my currently reading section in my next post.

So after writing this, I feel like a bit of a fool for writing the opening paragraph because all I’ve done is complain about myself and how little reading I’ve managed to get done. But I’m leaving it in, because I need to look at the bigger picture. I aimed to read a total of 26 books this year and I’m on books 12 and 13 at the moment, meaning I’m 6 books ahead of schedule. That’s awesome for me! I need to stop being so hard on myself!

Hopefully you’ve all had fabulous reading weeks and love the books you’ve read and are reading. Have a fab upcoming week 😊
