31st Jan WWW Wednesday

Evening All πŸ™‚

It’s hump day again and the weekend couldn’t come quick enough for me this week. I have been doing long hours in the office so far this week and not getting as much reading time as I’d have liked. But the weekend is upon us and I’ll get chance to do some relaxing, reading and get some much needed down time!

That aside…it’s WWW WEDNESDAY!!

This is a weekly feature run byΒ Taking on a World of WordsΒ whereby you blog answering the following 3 questions;

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What have you recently read?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

All you have to do is answer the questions and post a link to your post in the comments on Sam’s post. Easy Peasy and fun right? How can one resist.

What are you currently reading?

30971731New read for me this week isΒ This is Just My Face: Try Not to Stare by Gabourey Sidibe. I’m reading this for an ARC fromΒ NetGalleyΒ and I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a struggle. Not the actual writing or the story; that’s fab and I’m enjoying it. The downside is the formatting of the book is pretty darn awful so I feel I’m not really enjoying it to it’s full potential. Which is such a shame. Gabourey has some really interesting stories to tell! This is the first biography I’ve read in a very long time and I didn’t ever think I’d be reading the biography of the lady from the film Precious (if you didn’t know who she was already) but she’s awesome. I am going to crack on as I do want to read everything she has to say…bad formatting and everything.

I’ve prioritised the two ARCs that I have had in the last two weeks which means I also still haveΒ My Husband’s Wife by Jane CorryΒ on the back burner. I know this is the THIRD week running now. I want to make the statement that this is in no way a reflection on the book. I’ve just had other things that have gotten in the way! I am DETERMINED to have this finished this week.

What have you recently read?

51iMMIsKk2LI recently finished readingΒ One Fine Day by Cindy KirkΒ which was a lovely, easy going, easy to follow romance novel. Although the book didn’t change my life, it was satisfactory. I’d say satisfactory would be the perfect word to describe this one. It was pretty predictable but then I think a standard women’s fiction romance novel tends to be rather predictable. I didn’t hate it! You can read my review for this oneΒ here.

What do you think you’ll read next?

32487617Well it’s the end of the month, which means one thing in the Goodreads book group I am a member of; a new BOTM and side read. I feel like today is the 49th of Jan, not the 31st so it feels like such a long time since I read a book chosen by my fellow Goodreads Kick Up Your Heels ladies. The BOTM selected for February isΒ Beneath a Scarlet Sky by Mark T. SullivanΒ which I’m really looking forward to. This one’s a true story and I adore a true story. I find I get engrossed in books based on true stories so easily. Although I doubt I’ll be finishing this one within the week, I certainly intend on getting it lined up and ready on my virtual bookshelf, if not at least starting.

And so that brings us to an end for WWW Wednesday. I love writing these posts and I love reading all of your WWW Wednesday posts too. Drop me a comment if you know of any other book related features that you love posting and contributing to; I’d love to give them a read and maybe jump in too.

Happy reading this week 😊
